House Rules for The Lighthouse
Thank you for choosing to stay with us! To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone, please review and follow these house rules.
Check-In & Check-Out
- Check-In: After 4:00 PM
- Check-Out: By 11:00 AM
- Late check-outs may result in an additional fee as we need time to prepare for the next guest.
Parties & Events
- No parties or large gatherings allowed. Quiet, respectful get-togethers are fine, but loud music, excessive noise, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM (per local ordinances).
No Smoking or Vaping
- Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the property.
- Smoking is allowed outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.
- Violation Fee: $250 for deep cleaning.
Pet Policy
- Pets are not allowed unless explicitly permitted in the listing.
- Failure to follow the pet policy may result in an additional cleaning fee.
Fire Pit Use
- Outdoor Fire Pit: Allowed only in designated areas. Please fully turn off the fire after use.
Kitchen Use
- Feel free to use the kitchen, but please clean up after yourself.
- Wash dishes, empty the dishwasher, and dispose of food waste before checking out.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Arrangements
- Do not exceed the maximum number of guests listed on the reservation.
- Bedding and towels are provided. If extra linens are needed, please let us know.
Bathrooms
- Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Flushing wipes, feminine hygiene products, or other materials can cause plumbing issues.
Games & Amenities
- Games, puzzles, and other amenities are available for your enjoyment. Please return them to their original place after use.
Wi-Fi & Technology
- Wi-Fi information is provided in the welcome guide.
- Streaming services (if provided) are logged into our accounts. Please do not log out.
Cleanliness & Trash
- Please treat the property with respect and leave it as you found it.
- Take out the trash to the designated outdoor bins before departure.
- If staying for multiple days, please take trash out regularly to avoid odors and pests.
Security & Doors
- Lock all doors and close windows when leaving the property.
- Do not share the door code with anyone outside your group.
Prohibited Activities
- No illegal substances, firearms, or hazardous materials are allowed on the property.
- Tampering with smoke detectors will result in immediate removal and forfeiture of deposit.
Safety Guidelines
- Stair Safety: Use caution when going up and down the stairs, especially if traveling with young children or older guests. Hold the handrail and take your time to avoid slips or falls.
Extended Stays
- For stays longer than a week, we kindly ask that guests dispose of trash regularly and maintain basic cleanliness.
Penalties & Liability
- Penalties for Violating Rules: Failure to adhere to these rules may result in additional fees, loss of deposit, or cancellation of the reservation without refund.
- Liability Disclaimer: Guests assume full responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group during their stay. We are not responsible for injuries that occur if guests do not follow the house rules, including but not limited to climbing on railings, unsafe use of stairs, or misuse of amenities.

Check-In Details
- Check-in time: 4:00 PM or later
- Self check-in: Smart lock with keypad
- Access code: Will be sent to you 24 hours before arrival via text/email
Step-by-Step Check-In Instructions
- Arrive at 830 Williams Street, Lake Geneva
- Park in the driveway (fits up to 8 cars)
- Approach the front door and locate the keypad on the right side
- Enter your 4-digit code provided via text/email
- When the light turns green, turn the handle to enter
- You'll find a welcome binder with additional information on the kitchen counter
- Make yourself at home!
Check-Out Details
Thank you for staying with us! To help us prepare for the next guests and keep the space in great condition, please follow these checkout instructions before you leave.
Checkout Time
- Check-out by: 11:00 AM
- Late checkouts may result in an additional fee as we need time to clean and reset the property.
Living Area
- Return Cushions: If you used the outdoor cushions, please return them to the outside storage closet.
Fire Pit & Outdoor Area
- Turn Off/Extinguish Fire Pit: Double-check that the fire pit is completely extinguished and cooled down before you leave.
- Outdoor Furniture: Return any moved furniture to its original position.
Kitchen & Dishes
- Dishes in the Dishwasher: Please place all used dishes gently in the dishwasher.
- Start Dishwasher: If you have time, please start the dishwasher before leaving. Use the detergent provided.
- Clean Counters: Wipe down kitchen counters and stovetop to prevent pests.
Trash & Recycling
- Take Out Trash: Please take all trash and recycling to the designated outdoor bins before departure.
- Bag Replacement: If possible, replace the trash bag in the kitchen bin with a fresh one from the supply provided.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
- Strip Used Linens: Strip used sheets and pillowcases from the beds and place them on the floor.
- Towels: Place all used towels in the bathtub or shower.
- Check Closets & Drawers: Double-check closets, drawers, and under beds for any personal belongings.
Lights & Electronics
- Turn Off All Lights: Ensure all indoor and outdoor lights are turned off.
- Unplug Small Appliances: If you used small appliances like the coffee maker or toaster, please unplug them.
Doors & Windows
- Lock All Doors & Windows: Please ensure that all doors and windows are securely locked before leaving.
- Check Patio/Deck Doors: Double-check that any sliding or patio doors are locked and secured.
Games, Books & Amenities
- Return Games & Books: If you used any games, puzzles, or books, please return them to their original location.
Final Walkthrough
Before you head out, please take a final walkthrough to:
- Make sure nothing is left behind.
- Double-check that all water sources (sinks, showers) are turned off.
- Ensure the thermostat is adjusted to the recommended temperature noted in the welcome guide.
